Uses for Carolina Gym Supply 4" Throw Mats:
- Practicing dismounts from uneven bars or high bar
- Under a balance beam for additional matting

The Carolina Gym Supply 4" Throw Mats are supplemental mats, meant to be used on top of another mat to provide additional cushioning for training purposes. While made of a high-density polyurethane foam filler, the 4" thickness is not enough to prevent an athlete from bottoming out by itself.
We make the Carolina Gym Supply 4" Throw Mats standard with a mesh top and vinyl sides and bottom. The mesh top is generally preferred by athletes because of its "softer" feel. There's not as much vinyl-slapping involved when they hit the mat. The triple stitching of the mesh-to-vinyl seams helps to prevent the mesh from tearing prematurely. Note: Mesh is always going to be the first place to tear on a mat regardless of the quality of the craftsmanship.
We can make your 4" Throw Mat to have a vinyl top and bottom and mesh windows on the sides if you prefer. There is no extra cost for this variation.
Like all of our Carolina Gym Supply matting, the 4" Throw Mats have multiple handles on all four sides to be easily thrown where you need them.
